Our Senior High School
Have you achieved the qualification? Those who are eligible to attend senior high school have the opportunity to complete their Abitur (university entrance qualification) with us within three years. Our senior high school offers five different profiles and is open to students from GSO, as well as those from all over Bremen. We provide a broad general education through a wide range of offerings, with the option for individual specialization.
Broad General Education
A broad and in-depth general education is very important to us. However, not only knowledge is imparted here, but critical thinking is also practiced and fostered. Independent thinking and working, perseverance, staying committed even when it’s challenging – this is the only way to master the demanding and often arduous path to the Abitur or Fachabitur. Teamwork and a sense of responsibility are further skills that are considered significant qualifications both in school and later in higher education and professional life. We work on these in senior high school so that our students can pursue a successful and self-determined path.
Exciting Diversity
The GSO senior high school offers the opportunity to learn from many cultures and languages through its student body and staff. Respectful and trusting cooperation and mutual learning are indispensable. And curiosity! For people and knowledge. We stand firmly on democratic ground and expect respect, tolerance, and openness to new things and to others from all participants.
Five Profiles to Choose From
In senior high school, our students have the opportunity to choose from different profiles according to their interests and strengths: German, English, Pedagogy, Biology, or Math – what will it be? Where are the individual strengths that we can utilize and develop? Each profile comes with suitable combinations of compulsory and elective subjects.

We dedicate a lot of time and energy to career and study orientation in senior high school. The almost inexhaustible and often unknown possibilities for career and study choices after the Fachabitur or Abitur are explored and experienced in events, career counseling, and at fairs, to give students ideas and orientation for their future.
