Environmental Group

With our Environmental Group, we aim to initiate and implement interdisciplinary topics and projects in environmental education at GSO.

So far, we have established a sophisticated waste management system. Students regularly clean the school building, both inside and outside, in organized cleaning shifts divided by class. To support this, we acquire materials for waste separation in collaboration with the GSO School Association. We are installing new recycling bins for the school hallways, providing teaching materials on the topic of sustainability, and are on our way to becoming a “Consumer School.” The Federation of German Consumer Organizations awards this distinction to schools that empower young people to shape their everyday consumer decisions in an informed, critical, and self-determined manner.
